The Kosher Qin Phone (Qin F21 Pro) is a small phone with a touch screen and a physical number keypad. It runs Android 11 with our own custom filtered system on top.
What makes it kosher
No web browser and no Google Play Store.
Only approved apps. The Kosher Qin Phone app is the phone’s only app store, and it only shows the apps approved for your phone.
A network filter. Even inside approved apps, the filter blocks certain internet addresses, in-app browsers and GIFs.
A filter PIN. Changes to the phone need the PIN set at registration, usually by a parent.
ID verification. Most new app requests must be approved by a family member or the user’s rebbi.
The filter can’t be removed. It is a core part of the phone and stays on even after a factory reset.
Who supervises it? We don’t have a public rabbinical organization; we consult our own internal Rabbeim, and our app policies follow their guidance.

Which apps your phone has depends on what you choose. Some filter rules apply inside apps: for example, pictures inside Gmail are blocked by default, and in Google Maps some pictures can be blocked, but not all. See “What does the filter block inside apps?”
What it can’t do
Web browsing, Google Play Store, games
AI apps, shopping apps and other never-allowed categories (see “Which apps are never allowed?”)
Tap-to-pay / Google Pay (no NFC)
eSIM (it uses one physical SIM card)
SD card (storage is 32 GB or 64 GB and can’t be added to)
Upgrading to Android 12 or newer
Auto-rotate / landscape mode
Can it be used outside the US?
The phone is made for use in the USA. Outside the US it uses 3G only, and many countries have shut down 3G. It might work or it might not; we can’t guarantee it.
