How can I make my child's phone stricter?

Ways parents can lock down or narrow what the phone can do.

There are a few ways to make a phone stricter.

1. Set a filter PIN

Without the PIN, nobody can request new apps or loosen the filter. Set it at my.kosherqinphone.com → Manage My Device. Choose a code your child doesn’t know. See “How do I set or change my filter PIN?”

2. Turn on Parental Controls

On the phone: Kosher Qin Phone app → ☰ → Parental Controls → Enable, enter the PIN, and turn on the locks you want (block installing, lock the app store, block texting or picture messages). See “How do I use Parental Controls?”

3. Ask us to remove apps or block more

We can remove apps from the phone’s list, block videos, or block some pictures in Google Maps. Contact us through the support chat in the Kosher Qin Phone app or by email at [email protected] with:

  • The phone’s serial number

  • Your filter PIN (so we know the change is authorized)

  • Which apps to remove or what to block

Please note:

  • Once an app is removed, it can’t be added back later.

  • After an app is removed from the list, also uninstall it from the phone itself.

  • Google Maps pictures: some can be blocked, but not all. Waze has no pictures. You can also remove Google Maps. If you use Android Auto without Google Maps, go to Kosher Qin Phone app → ☰ → Tools → Allow Android Auto Without Maps.

  • Some things can’t be blocked, like ads inside Gmail. In that case, removing the app may be the best option.

Apps removed at a parent’s request

If you ask us to remove an app, we won’t add it back if your child requests it later.
