How do I put in my SIM card?

Insert your SIM, and what to know about carriers before you start.

The Kosher Qin Phone takes one physical nano-SIM card. It does not support eSIM. The phone is unlocked.

Insert the SIM

  1. Turn the phone off.

  2. Take out the SIM tray using the small pin that came with the phone. It sometimes needs a firm push.

  3. Place the SIM in the tray with the gold chip facing up (visible) and the plastic side lying on the tray.

  4. Push the tray all the way in until it is flush with the phone.

  5. Turn the phone back on.

Which carriers work?

Every US carrier runs on one of three networks: T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon.

  • T-Mobile, AT&T, and carriers that use their networks: work out of the box. Insert the SIM and go.

  • Verizon, and carriers that use Verizon’s network: you need to call your carrier and ask them to enable “CDMA-less” on your line. After they say it’s done, call again and confirm with a different representative that it is really on.

  • Our own Kosher Qin Phone plans: work out of the box with a new or transferred (ported) number.

For details on carriers, US Mobile, our plans and fixing “no service”, see the Cellular Service & Carriers collection.

Using our Kosher Qin Phone SIM

If you ordered our cellular service:

  1. Insert the SIM as shown above and turn the phone on.

  2. On a computer or another phone, go to mobile.kosherelectronics.com.

  3. Choose your plan, and choose a new number or port in (keep) your current number. To port in, you need the account number and transfer PIN from your current carrier. Your old number stays active until the port finishes.

  4. Wait a few minutes, restart the phone, and test a call and a text.

If your old phone used an eSIM, you can port that number to our SIM card.

Note: mobile.kosherelectronics.com is only for our cellular plans. Registering your phone is done at my.kosherqinphone.com.
