On Verizon’s network, your line needs a setting called “CDMA-less”. Only your carrier can turn it on, so you need to ask them. This applies to Verizon itself and to any carrier that uses Verizon’s network (including US Mobile’s Warp network).
Steps
Call your carrier and ask them to enable CDMA-less on your line.
After they say it’s done, call again and confirm with a different representative that CDMA-less is really on. Sometimes representatives say it’s done when it isn’t.
Restart your phone.
Test a call, a text and mobile data.
If your carrier says they can’t turn it on
Call back and try a different representative.
If it still can’t be done, you can switch to a carrier on the T-Mobile or AT&T network, which work out of the box, or to our own cellular plans.
Signs that CDMA-less is not on
No service, or service that keeps dropping.
The phone shows the SIM as “detected” and then “undetected” over and over (about every 30 seconds).
On US Mobile Warp: the phone worked for about a month and then stopped. See I use US Mobile. Which network should I choose?
Still no service after CDMA-less is confirmed?
Follow the steps in My phone has no service.
Picture or group texting problems on Verizon?
That is a different issue with its own fix. See Pictures open a new group chat, or voice notes won’t play.
