Steps
Turn off RCS and restart. Google Messages → ⋮ → Settings → RCS chats / Chat features → off, then restart your phone. This fixes it for most people.
Waiting for a verification code? Check the spam / blocked folder in Google Messages.
Check Messages permissions: Settings → Apps & notifications → Messages → Permissions, and make sure everything is allowed.
Try the steps in My phone has no service. You can also ask your carrier for a new SIM.
If it still happens
Send us two or three examples:
The phone number that texted you
The date and approximate time of each message
Your ZIP code
This helps us look into it, especially if you use our own cellular plans.
