Android Auto says it needs the Google app or Google Maps

Install Android Auto Helper, or use Allow Android Auto Without Maps.

“Android Auto needs the Google app” / “Make sure you have the latest Google apps”

  1. Open the Kosher Qin Phone app and go to the Apps tab.

  2. Find Android Auto Helper (in the Made by Kosher Qin Phone section). It’s in every app store. Scroll the list rather than using search.

  3. Press Install and wait about a minute.

  4. Reconnect to your car.

“Google Maps is not installed”

  • If Google Maps is in your app store: install it from the Apps tab, then reconnect.

  • If Google Maps isn’t in your store: open the Kosher Qin Phone app → ☰ (top left) → Tools → Allow Android Auto Without Maps. Wait a few seconds, then reconnect to your car.

Then

Update Android Auto and everything else in the Kosher Qin Phone app → Updates tab, and reconnect to the car.
