Use these steps if Android Auto won’t connect, connects by Bluetooth but not Android Auto, shows an error screen, or keeps disconnecting.
Steps (in this order)
Do the setup steps. Update everything in the Kosher Qin Phone app → Updates tab, install Android Auto Helper, and install Google Maps (or turn on Allow Android Auto Without Maps in Tools). See How do I set up Android Auto?
Permissions and Special app access. Go to Settings → Apps & notifications → See all apps → (☰ → Show system) → Android Auto → Permissions and allow everything. Do the same for Google Play Services. Then go to Settings → Apps & notifications → Advanced → Special app access and allow both apps in each section (for example, Notification access).
Use a USB-C data cable. Some cables are “charge-only” and don’t carry data. If you use wireless, try a cable instead.
Match the date and time. The phone’s date and time must match the car’s.
Clear Android Auto’s storage. Go to Settings → Apps & notifications → See all apps → ☰ → Show system → Android Auto → Storage & cache → Clear storage. Then open Google Play Services → Storage & cache → Clear cache.
Re-pair from scratch. Remove the car in Android Auto on your phone, and remove the phone from the car’s list of devices. Then connect again.
Phone gets slow when connected
Remove apps you don’t need from the Android Auto launcher.
