An app is missing from my car screen in Android Auto

Turn on Unknown sources in Android Auto's developer settings to show more apps.

Android Auto only shows apps that came pre-installed on the phone, unless you turn on Unknown sources in Android Auto’s developer settings. This only affects Android Auto. It doesn’t change your filter or your app store.

Steps

  1. Open the Settings app. Go to Connected devices → Connection preferences → Android Auto.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Version repeatedly (about 10 times) until you see a message saying Developer mode enabled.

  3. Tap the menu (three dots or three lines) in the top right corner.

  4. Select Developer settings.

  5. Check Unknown sources.

  6. Reconnect your phone to your car. Supported apps installed on your phone should now appear.

If the app still doesn’t show

  1. Disconnect and reconnect Android Auto.

  2. Restart your phone.

  3. Update both the app and Android Auto in the Kosher Qin Phone app → Updates tab.

  4. Make sure the app works on the phone itself. Some apps need to be opened on the phone first before they work in the car.

The app shows up but crashes?

That’s a different problem. See Android Auto won’t connect or keeps disconnecting.
