Your phone has two home screens:
Our custom launcher, which comes pre-installed and is the default
Quickstep, the alternative home screen
For any home screen problem, switch to Quickstep. This includes icons missing, a doubled or black clock, the layout changing, tapping an app opening a different app, or speed dial not working.
Switch to Quickstep
Go to Settings → Apps & notifications → Default apps → Home app and select Quickstep.
Other home screen fixes
Problem | Fix |
Quickstep isn’t in the Home app list | Settings → Apps & notifications → See all apps → ☰ → Show system → Quickstep → Enable. Then set it as the Home app. |
Icons missing on Quickstep | See all apps → ☰ → Show system → Quickstep → Storage & cache → Clear storage. |
Duplicate icons | Hold the extra icon → Remove. |
An app isn’t on the home screen | Open the app drawer, hold the app, and drag it onto the home screen. |
Good to know
Please don’t uninstall the home screen app from Settings.
Hiding installed apps isn’t supported. If you don’t want an app, uninstall it. It stays in your app store and can be reinstalled anytime.
