Follow these steps in order. Most setup problems come from skipping a step.
Insert your SIM. Turn the phone off first, insert the SIM, then turn it on and finish the normal Android setup. (See “How do I put in my SIM card?”)
Connect to Wi-Fi. The Kosher Qin Phone app needs internet to work. Many “nothing loads” problems are just no internet.
Don’t add a Google account yet if the Kosher Qin Phone app asks to be activated. Logged-in accounts block activation.
Open the Kosher Qin Phone app and press Activate if it asks. If you see “Skip for now”, you can skip it and let the app update.
Register the phone. On a computer or another phone (the Qin has no web browser), go to my.kosherqinphone.com, press Register (not “Manage”), and enter your serial number from Settings → About → Model & Hardware → Serial Number. Choose your apps and set your filter PIN. (See “How do I register my phone?”)
Install your apps. Back on the phone, on Wi-Fi, open the Kosher Qin Phone app, press the refresh button, and install your apps from the Apps tab. Scroll the All list instead of using search.
Update. Open the Updates tab and update the Kosher Qin Phone app and Google Play Services.
Log in to your accounts. Now you can sign in to Google and your other accounts.
Important
The apps you choose at registration become your phone’s app list. Adding any app later, even one from our catalog, is a $5 app request.
If a parent manages the phone, use the parent’s email when registering. Important emails, like ID verification links, go to that address.
Apps not showing?
Restart the phone and check the full All list in the Apps tab. See “My apps aren’t showing after I registered.”
