Every request is reviewed individually, and approval is never guaranteed, even if someone else has the app. Rejection emails usually don’t include a specific reason, and support can’t change the decision.
Common reasons
The app is in a category we don’t allow (see “Which apps are never allowed?”), or usually don’t allow (fitness and sports apps).
The content inside the app can’t be filtered.
ID verification wasn’t completed within 7 days, or didn’t pass.
The filter PIN wasn’t provided or was wrong.
The app name was unclear, or it wasn’t a real Google Play app.
The app isn’t on Google Play.
The app is known not to work on the phone.
Is the fee refunded?
No. The $5 fee isn’t refundable if the app is rejected. See “How much does an app request cost?”
Can I try again?
If your request closed because verification or the PIN wasn’t completed in time, you can submit a new request. Make sure to use the exact Google Play name, and have your PIN and a family member or rebbi ready for ID verification.
