ID verification shows that a real, responsible adult approved an app request. Without it, anyone holding the phone could request apps. It protects children and keeps the phone kosher.
When is it needed?
On most app requests.
On requests to turn on hotspot.
Each request is handled on its own. Even if you verified for an earlier request, a new request may need verification again.
18+ or 21+?
Some requests need the verifier to be 18 or older, and some need 21 or older. This is decided for each request. We don’t share a list of which apps need which age.
How it works
You submit an app request.
If verification is needed, we email a verification link to the account email on your phone’s registration.
A family member or your rebbi opens the link and follows the on-screen ID check.
The link and the request stay open for 7 days. If verification isn’t completed in time, the request closes.
After verification, your request is reviewed and you get an email with the decision.
Privacy
Our verification provider only tells us the verifier’s name and date of birth. Our staff don’t see the ID image. Please never send a photo of your ID in the support chat or by email.
