These are normal and are not faults with your phone:
What you see | Why |
Pictures you receive look blurry | Carriers compress picture messages. This is a normal limit of picture messaging. |
Long videos or very large group texts don’t send | Picture and group messages have size limits set by the carrier. |
Long text is hidden behind the keyboard | The screen is small. Try splitting long messages. |
Lock icons on messages | The messages are encrypted. They are not locked. |
GIFs and stickers don’t work | They’re blocked by the filter and can’t be unblocked. |
Handy tips
Change text size in a conversation: pinch to zoom in or out.
Schedule a message: in Google Messages, hold the send button.
Block a spam number: block it from inside the messaging app.
Links won’t send: turn off RCS, and try sending the link without “https://” at the start.
