What does "Reset network settings" do?

A safe reset for Wi-Fi, mobile data and Bluetooth problems. It's not a factory reset.

Reset network settings is a safe troubleshooting step for problems with cell service, mobile data, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

What it does

  • Forgets saved Wi-Fi networks (you’ll need to re-enter passwords)

  • Removes Bluetooth pairings (you’ll need to pair devices again)

  • Resets mobile network settings

What it does NOT do

It does not erase your contacts, messages, photos, apps or other data.

How to do it

  1. Go to Settings → System → Reset (sometimes called Reset options).

  2. Tap Reset network settings. It may be called “Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth”.

  3. Confirm.

  4. Restart your phone.

Don’t confuse it with factory reset

On the same screen there’s an option called “Erase all data” or “Factory reset”. Do not press it. A factory reset erases everything on the phone. Please contact us before ever doing a factory reset.
